Kerry Neves was elected Chairman of the Galveston County Republican
Party by the party’s Executive Committee on January 9, 2007, to fill
the unexpired term of a prior chairman who resigned. Kerry has served
as President of the Texas Federation of Pachyderm Clubs, and is
presently in his fourth year in that office. Prior to that time, he
was President of the Galveston Island Pachyderm Club for five years,
leading that Club in a growth in membership which made it the largest
Pachyderm Club in the country.
Kerry was just reelected to his fourth three year term as a City Councilman for the City of Dickinson, the last two times without any opposition. He served as Mayor Pro Tem for three years during those terms.
The purpose of Pachyderm Clubs is political education, and Kerry has
been a frequent speaker on political issues. His presentations
include “Confirmation Politics: The Legal Background of Roe v Wade
And Its Impact on Supreme Court Nominees.”
An active Republican Kerry has held or holds various positions with local, state and national Republican organizations.
Kerry has been an attorney in Galveston County for 29 years, and is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His office is located in Dickinson.
Kerry has been married for 34 years to Sharon, who is the District Math Coordinator for the Dickinson Independent School District. They have a 15 year old daughter, Erin, a student at Dickinson High School.
Kerry served in the United Sates Marine Corps from 1969-1972, and was discharged as a Sergeant. He then attended the University of Texas and the University of Texas School of Law.
